Coaxial action
Jun 08, 2021
The coaxial line is used for the support of equipment, closed circuit television (CCTV), shared antenna system (MATV) and the transmission of color or monochrome radio frequency monitors. These applications do not need to choose precision video coaxial cables with particularly tight electrical tolerances. The characteristic resistance of the video coaxial cable is 75 ohms, this value is not arbitrarily chosen. Physics proves that the optimal attenuation characteristic of the video signal occurs at 77 ohms. In low-power applications, materials and design determine the optimal impedance of the cable to be 75 ohms.
